The WHN goal is to provide health education to women in ways
that meet their cultural and linguistic needs. It provides information
on women's health needs through its web site.
WHN is housed in the Institute for Women's Health and is a
collaboration of VCU Libraries, the Virginia Hispanic Chamber
of Commerce and Richmond's safety net health care providers
through REACH. It provides Internet based women's health resources
for health care providers and consumers. The WHN web site includes
hundreds of links to national and local sources of health information.
This site has links to materials available on the Web in a variety
of languages. In particular, many Web sites are specifically
for people who speak Spanish. (Note: as of July 2007, the site is no longer being updated regularly.)
The WHN was established in October 2001 and funded in part
by a contract from the National Library of Medicine.

Health Network website.
